Literary Guides for Reading Together

Thoughtfully written, literary guides for parents who read with their children and want to dive beneath the surface of a story. These guides are designed for parents, caregivers, and educators who want to read children’s literature with greater attention and intention. They reflect the same editorial attention that informs my writing, publishing, and editorial work.

Ways Love Is Held in Children's Stories

A Literary Guide to Reading Together

This guide explores how love is expressed through words, presence, imagination, care, and play in classic children’s literature. Each observation invites you to slow down, read closely, and recognize moments that often pass unnoticed—making it a companion for shared reading, no matter what books are on your list.

This guide is designed to be returned to. You might read an observation before opening a book, revisit one after a story lingers with you, or simply keep it nearby as a way of thinking about what children receive through stories beyond plot and lessons. It does not ask children to perform or respond. Instead, it supports the adult reader in noticing how love is already being held within the stories you share.
